KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 10 (Bernama) -- Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) is expanding its presence in Latin America to tap into a potential enterprise and wholesale market of 600 million people in the region, says the Malaysian envoy to Chile Datuk Dr Mohammad Rameez Yahaya.
He said TM is now working with the Malaysian embassy in Santiago, Chile for its penetration initiative to reach out to Malaysian and ASEAN multinational companies operating in the region.
"Chile is among the most business-friendly markets in Latin America and therefore attractive to foreign direct investment (FDI) from ASEAN countries," he told Bernama here today.
Mohammad Rameez said the telecommunications and Internet service provider is also looking into expanding their internet service network in the region.
"We are also looking at opportunities from Latin America into the United States and other parts of the world through strategic partnerships with local incumbent telecommunications companies," he said.
