Bank Negara’s foreign reserves slightly lower at US$94 billion

The international reserves of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) were slightly lower at US$94 billion (RM417.9 billion) as at October 30, from US$94.1 billion (RM418 billion) as at October 15.
In a statement today, the central bank said the reserves position is sufficient to finance 8.7 months of retained imports and is 1.2 times the short-term external debt.
BNM's foreign reserves have fallen US$11.5 billion in the five months from June to October, slipping below the US$100 billion mark to US$96.7 billion in July. – The Edge Markets, November 6, 2015.
