KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Guidance Investments, a Malaysian-based investment management firm, today announced the first closure of its Logistics Real Estate Investment Fund at US$100 million.
The fund is Southeast Asia's first fund focused on the logistics and industrial sectors, Guidance Investments said in a statement.
A leading Malaysian financial organisation is the anchor investor of the landmark fund, it said.
"Other investors include pension funds, a supra-national institution, endowment funds and family offices from the Gulf Cooperation Council and West Asia," it said.
"The Logistics Real Estate Investment Fund is managed by Pius Ho who has over 25 years of international experience in real estate investing and fund management," it added.
Guidance Investments, through Capital Guidance, has over 25 years of investment and fund management experience, across five real estate operating platforms with a total of US$5 billion investments in 110 properties in North America, West Asia, North Africa and Asia.
Guidance Investments Chief Executive Officer, Dr Hasnita Hashim said the fund's strategy would be to focus on high-growth opportunities in the logistics and warehouse property sectors in four countries, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia.
"We believe the fund will capture strong capital and rental growth in a sector that is expected to mature substantially over the coming years," she said.
