Bank Rakyat Expects Sustainable Growth In Banking Activities

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat expects sustainable growth in its banking activities this year despite challenging economic situation.

Its Chairman, Jeneral Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Zainal (B), said the bank aimed to boost growth in this challenging economic environment by having more partnerships with public and private entities.

"We are in discussions for more partnerships this year," he told reporters after the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Security Services Association of Malaysia (PPKKM) here Tuesday.

The partnership aimed to provide Bank Rakyat's financial products and services to 800 companies under PPKKM, he said.

"The two-year partnership is an initiative to expand products as well as services in assisting PPKKM members, such as formerly from the police and armed forces from the aspect of business capital management.

In view of difficulty in capital funding due to current economic instability, this MOU, he said, would offer products that could help those who were planning to start business.
