LABUAN, Nov 7 (Bernama) -- The Consulate General of Indonesia in Kota Kinabalu says it will identify bottlenecks to trade and new areas of trade with the aim of increasing two-way trade between the republic and Sabah and Labuan.
"The economic situation here is promising.
"We are looking at key sectors in Sabah like the booming oil and gas sector particularly in the oil refinery field which we feel we can encourage our entrepreneurs to venture into," its economics consul Thoso Priharnowo said at a media luncheon here Saturday.
He said the consulate will hold the inaugural Indonesia Week on Nov 12-15 at Centre Point shopping mall in Kota Kinabalu, featuring Indonesian products, a fashion show by renowned Indonesian designer Ai Sharif and business-matching sessions.
The consulate in Kota Kinabalu is empowered to look after Labuan, Bukit Garam, Lahad Datu, Sandakan and districts in the northern parts of Sabah, he added.
